Sept. 07 - Republicans' Decision Kills 62 Patriots

October 1, 2007

On November 7, 2007 the Nation voted for change. The voters signaled that they wanted a new direction in regard to George W. Bush's oil war of choice in Iraq.

Since then, on several occasions, Democrats in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives have brought forth the opportunity to change course in Iraq. Each time, Republicans have voted against changing course in Iraq. And every month more Patriots are killed in Iraq's civil war. During August, the Iraqi Parliament did not even show up for work - choosing to go on vacation. The Patriots still were being shot at, dying, and risking their lives for the vacationers. Republicans did not seem to have a problem with that...instead they chose to change the subject and ignore the obvious. Now, the U.S. military is beyond strained. Recruiting is becoming even more difficult and standards are being lowered. A majority of Republicans have now signaled approval for George W. Bush to go to war in Iran. Of course, George W. Bush's children are not in Iraq or Afghanistan. Nor is his nephew.  During the month of September 2007, 62 more U.S. Patriots were killed in Iraq.

As the dollar hits all time lows, the housing market leaves people homeless, Katrina victims still fight for life, and Patriots continue dying in Iraq; Republicans are staying the course. It is costing the U.S. taxpayer billions every week and, more importantly, Patriots are dying on a daily basis.

When will the Republicans wake up and vote morally?

Enough is enough.
