A Painted Lady butterfly feeds on the nectar of a butterfly bush blossom in Eldorado. With fall close at hand the Painted Lady butterflies can be seen in abundance gathering nectar as they prepare to migrate south. The Painted Lady is a member of the very large family of butterflies called the Brushfooted Butterflies, which has over 5,000 members. Painted lady butterflies live on all continents except Australia and Antarctica. Photo by Clyde Mueller/The New Mexican
