It won't be long before we won't need an "interactive" heading, because almost everything on our site is now, or soon will be, designed for you to interact with! In addition to the opportunity to comment on almost every article on the site, here are a few other ways you can "interact" with us, other readers, and, well, the site:
- Chat Room While you can comment on many news articles, our new unmoderated chat area at santafespeaks.com is a place where you can explore tangents, talk about articles not selected for comments, and generally get to know others in our online community in a more informal setting.
- Comment schedule Every day a select number of stories are chosen to be open for comments around the clock. At certain times of the day, we provide a window to allow comments on all stories. The current schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.; 11:00am to 12:00 noon; and 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This schedule may change depending upon staffing resources. The link takes you to a list of what articles are open and the latest schedule information.
- Forum topic list: This shows you every topic we have active on the site, so you can comment by topic rather than being limited to a specific article.
- Readers' News: Readers have shared with us and with each other what's going on right now in their neighborhood, or around the world. Let us know what we've missed!
- Blogs: Blogs are the simplest way to share what you think with the world, online. A window opens, you type, then press "Submit." However, to have your blog published by The New Mexican, you need to commit to doing it frequently. Read what others are saying, and see if you've got what it takes to be a FreeNewMexican blogger!
- There's more, too. You can submit photos online (see the section heading just above), and you can play games: Games & Puzzles. Have fun!
