Pancakes, fireworks, dances and picnics are among the events scheduled in the Santa Fe area as part of Independence Day observances this holiday weekend. Here is a look at what’s going on: the Plaza: Begins at 7 a.m. Sunday on the Santa Fe Plaza with pancake breakfasts served until noon, entertainment on the new Plaza bandstand until 3 p.m., and arts and crafts and food vendors until 5 p.m. Breakfast tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the Plaza. Santa Fe Trails will provide shuttle service to the Plaza every 15 minutes from Villa Linda Mall’s J C Penney area. Shuttles start at 6:30 a.m., $2 for adults and $1 for kids ages 6-17 . Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza 2004: Food, fun and musical entertainment from 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Ivan Head Stadium, Santa Fe High School. Fireworks begin at dusk. For more information call 983-6632 .
Los Alamos Independence Day Celebration: Food, fun and musical entertainment from 5 p.m. Sunday at Overlook Park, Los Alamos. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.. donation of $3 per person and $12 for a car. Bennett Amusement Carnival begins at 6 p.m. July 2 and at noon July 3 - 4, also in Overlook Park. Free shuttle service from Piñon School, 7 to 11 p.m. For more information call 662-8075 . Nambé Fourth of July Celebration: Nambé Pueblo dancers performing Yellow Corn, Winter Buffalo and Bow and Arrow dances, Aztec dancers scheduled along with arts and crafts and food booths. Photo and video permits can be purchased at the event. The celebration begins at 8 a.m. Sunday at Nambé Falls Dam and Reservoir about 14 miles north of Santa Fe. Take U.S. 84/285 north from Santa Fe, head east on N.M. 503 for about 3 1 /2 miles and turn right at Nambé Pueblo Road 101. Signs will be posted. Event fees are $3 for adults and $1 for children ages 5-12 . No Fireworks scheduled.
Fourth of July Picnic: The Hondo Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual picnic from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday on the grounds of Station Number 1 at the Seton Village/Sunlit Hills. Exit off the Old Las Vegas highway. Everyone welcome, no admission charge. For more information call 466-1831 .

Taos Fourth of July: The Taos Optimist Club will sponsor festivities at Filemón Sanchez Park beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday, including food vendors and music from local bands. A fireworks display should begin between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
