reposted for the 3rd time; - David- i apologize for being so long in getting this reposted. I 'lost my bearings' trying to repeated all the deleted posts.
Oyegi - "I didn't get an e-mail why my post was deleated." Too much trouble? Worried they'll be edited and reposted? Software program (that seems to cover everything about the new ^ improved forum) can't do it? Maybe 6 months after spell check is on line! "I still think that the person deleting & their reason(s) why should be known publicly." I agree 100%.
"Babe is just like Rush" 2 types of people enjoy Limpbaugh - racists and those who tolerate them. No one has to "be converted to the dark side." Just regurgitating LIES allows them to work. BIG LIE rules... make it wild, repeat it and repeat it and repeat it and keep repeating it, and never admit it is wrong. Worked 70 years ago and has worked many times since......Added to the original deleted post: ---

Fred makes a good point, MORE Demos in the Senate....15 or 20.
And more in the House too.

Eric, if she had anything on him she would have already used it. He not only dominated cauceses, but when it comes time to elect the delegates at conventions his people show up. It is over and some polling firms will no longer poll Clinton against McCain.
The positive out of this primary is that Obama has had a chance to build a fifty state strategy and test it. He has built a get out the vote structure that will not only help him, but help the party in states he will lose.
I look foward to clear majorities in congress for the Democratic party. |

Babe linked to some blogger with no context in a poor attempt to Slime Obama. So I'll use that post to point out how David Ignatius, an multiple award winning columnist with 10 years experience at the WSJ & 20 years of writing on global politics, economics and international affairs, views Obama.
His WaPo Op-ed is worth the read: Mr. Cool's Intensity "The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is far from perfect, but he has demonstrated the most mysterious and precious gift in politics, which is grace under pressure......What's compelling about Obama is that fusion of grace and ambition.... playing for the highest stakes, but he makes it look easy. That cool, graceful quality evokes John F. Kennedy and the Rat Pack -- all these sleek, handsome men in silk suits and skinny ties who never break character, never miss a beat.' |

I believe Clinton and/or her people are planning a surprise that will come the weekend after the June 3 elections. I will not reveal the details but do not be surprised if delegate votes in earlier caucuses are seemingly recast in her favor as a result of operative work which took place during certain conventions. I do not think the surprise will work and if I am correct, the divisiveness which will be a side result will definitely damage the Democratic Party. There is currently an awareness campaign which is meant to prevent overturning the voter's wishes. Voters and Delegates are not ignorant, when the sheep's clothing is shed and wolves are found to be in the house destruction in the way of unity will occur. Watch for news stories on June 8 and June 9 and you will understand of what this comment refers. I truly hope that I am wrong about this but I fear I am not. |

Nice try BABE!!!!! Think agian. Regarding your post Submitted: 05/10/2008 6:59 pm....
The quote that you attribute to Senator Barack Obama was actually a column dated Oct. 27, 2007, on a Web site called the Arizona Conservative, and was written by John Semmens and clearly labeled as humor. His column, in fact, is called "Semi-News -- A Satirical Look at Recent News." It was not Obama that said it, it was a two bit writer trying to be funny.
I think you know your posted reference was a lie, but chose to post it anyway.

Posted for the 3rd time. The Sunday morning mental midget is back again. There is no reason for the webed to allow this harassment week after week. And if one forgets to save a copy it is lost - not like when there was a GOOD forum where they were automatically returned. These posts haven't been 5th grade inane gossip. Haven't stupid off topic chatterron nonsense. I hope Steve saved his insightful post and reposts it.
"Are they a right wing rag now too?" WSJ editorial pages have alway been extremely conservative. Since Murdock has taken over the news pages have begun to go down hill and the editorial pages becoming much less reasoned and more of a screed. And as for the blog that was linked he is just some guy with a blog who references Reich-wing sources like the Weekly Standard and Commentary Using Weekly standard to give third party credibility ot a LIE indicates to me he belongs on a reich-wing blog.
So this joker with a blog - it simply means some guy with a blog on a very right wing publication has an opinion. I think he is delusional if he wants to call the response defensive and nasty, but it doesn't matter. |

The following is from the Wall Street Journal. Are they a right wing rag now too?
"For all the hype about Barack Obama being some new kind of politician, in one respect he is very similar to recent Democratic presidential nominees: He takes criticism very badly, responding to it by getting both defensive and nasty. It is a most unattractive quality. CNN reports on a case in point: "This is offensive, and I think it's disappointing," Obama told [Wolf] Blitzer, when asked his thoughts about McCain's comments

Another brilliant quote from Obama.......
"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides,' Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it."
I gotta wounder if that means he won't raise the flag at the Whitehouse.Or maybe evan have them banned from being flown anywhere.

Clinton is out of money, out of time, out of states, pout of possibilities and out of ideas...time for her to go home.
Five ways she is like a publiCON: 5. Fiscally irresponsible - Her campaign is broke. 4. Really really rich 3. Outrageous sense of entitlement 2. Expert at playing the race card 1. No exit strategy
Seems like Rasmussen Polling has: they "...announced on Friday that it will stop polling people about the presidential campaign of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton because her opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, will win the Democratic nomination.'

Old Man McCain has a lobbyist running his campaign and about 50 lobbyists in the upper levels of his staff! The only problem with Goodyear as far as McCain was concerned is that there are 10.000s of dead and dying and a million plus people homeless and Goodyear's clients are showing the world what thugs they are.
"I've never done any favors for anybody — lobbyist or special interest group — that's a clear, 24-year record. " - John McCain WHAT A DISHONEST LIAR! He must have lost his bearings & forgot about Charlie Keating!

The companies that use CDL drivers review the driving records of their employees often. This driver may have had his suspension occur after his last check. There is a huge liability for these companies that run on thin profit margins.
Those with commercial liscenses are held to a higher standard and I feel safer in my car next to them, then anyone else. These companies will check the status of their drivers often. Some may only check annually, but many will check as often as quarterly. Still some will slip through the cracks. |

You really do not need to make up a bunch of factually bankrupt, jingoistic, false, bigoted and juvenile statements.
Perhaps you should start with changing your own name as it is not English. |

The government should move the trials to the US. Don't try to stack the deck. By holding the prisoners outside the US, our government circumvents the Constitution, denying rights that would apply to everybody else. Little wonder why our government is reviled by so many around the world. But I guess we shouldn't be shocked when hypocrites are elected & appoint their cronies to positions of power. |

Obviously the only thing on supposed trial at Guantanamo is the "concept" or idea of terror.
Since that is a slam dunk...the detainees are all guilty simply by association.
(and since most the crimes and prisoners have now been held for a "speedy and fair trial" now for 6 years.....perhaps supposed crime, like wine ....gets better with time.) |

Maybe you can answer this Mark (or anybody), why do parents who don't take the time to ensure grades are there and assignments in turn around and try to "parent" once the hammer has come down?
Santa Fe High has an online grade book where parents can view assignments, grades and absences from their own home, yet act shocked when their babies are ineligible for things like sports, prom or graduation.
Is this the state of our future where nobody is accountable for their own (or their minor children's) actions or non-actions?

"Leaded" is probably lost on the young. Unless you fly light piston-engine planes, many younger Americans probably never heard of it. Lead was used as an antiknock agent and valve "lubricant" in gasoline engines, such as my original high-strung 1969 Honda CB-450.
Lead was phased out because the air and soils, especially in cities, was becoming seriously polluted with lead, much of it resulting from the release of Pb from the combustion of tetraethyl lead in gasoline, where it was added in quantities as high as a few grams per gallon. This resulted in high levels of lead in the bodies of people, esp. those living in cities. Google Claire Patterson, the late professor of Geochemistry at the California Institute of Technology, for an interesting story. Finding lead contamination in his geological measurements, he opened up a major environmental movement to clean up Pb.
Interestingly, the University of Hawaii etched some sidewalks around a parking lot outside our building in the early nineties in order to install a non-skid covering. They released so much lead that it shut down lead isotope measurements in my mass spec lab for a couple month.
Claire was a genuine hero among geochemists and his work contributed to considerable improvements in the human condition. I still have some of his papers on the subject of lead contamination, not to mention his U-Pb dating of the age of the earth. Here is a start.
