The following requirements are intended to help you understand how we evaluate
materials during the submission process. All materials that you submit to freenewmexican.com
must comply with these requirements.
Dixieland raw and raucous, as it is meant to be. They hold court every Saturday
afternoon at Evangelo's - a tiny narrow bar with a very small stage, right off
the plaza. Their CD was recorded live in such conditions (with astonishing fidelity)
and captures the moment with blistering immediacy. Great fun!
Santa Fe is a national hotbed of the rumba flamenca genre, flamenco's
dance-pop descendant. Manzanares raise the genre's standard by injecting some
much needed high-energy rhythmic activity, making their work one of the most
successful combinations of traditional Latin, rumba flamenca, and Nuevo
Mexicano musics.

While not on the initial list of bands to not play on the plaza, this group
is a main component in the city's cutting-edge musical community. Spearheaded
by Chris Jonas and Molly Sturges, Indonesian rhythms and Ethiopian pop music
influences meet up with an occasional Kurt Weill sensibility to make for an
engaging, fun pop experience that is both toe-tapping and mind bending.

It was after Jack's performance that all subsequent music that used improvisation
was cancelled. While certainly not entirely improvised, these selections from
Jack's latest project Bone Pilgrim and their release "A Parade for the
Fallen" offer a glimpse into the core of Jack's sound world. Mutant country
folk-pop with a textured, soundscape production through a frosted Turkish mirror.Trust
