Oh no! No Real Estate Clerks! How will I ever buy a house with out such expertise? I hope they saved their pennies during the boom years, like mortgage brokers and builders. The era of 6% is ending quick!! TG!

OK. What anti free speech Realtor flagged my post?
All I am asking for is less than 6% sales commission from a group that needs little education and training.
$24000 to market my $400000 house seems a bit high....don't ya think? Time for a revolution. |

Maybe Real Estate clerks (Realtors) should lower their outrageous commissions as well. 6% or $24k (on a $400k home) to sell a house is ridiculous.
Beauticians have more training than Realtors.
Maybe this slowdown will force many of them back to the used car lots and shoe stores. Karma at its best! |

Too bad the earlier description of it are not the reality of it. Where is the movie theater and all those businesses? "Only 3 spaces left" lol! I think it is Karma. |

If the Los Alamos schools are doing better than the Santa Fe schools, No Child Left Behind suggest the winning strategy -- take money away from the Santa Fe schools and give it to the Los Alamos schools. That will surely fix everything - NOT. The NCLB is a political ploy to take from the poor and give to the rich. It fits in perfectly with the right wing agenda.
It is a really stupid policy for the overall quality of education. It should be clear, to any reasonable person, that the Santa Fe schools need more support, not less, while the Los Alamos school are doing just fine without having to take money away from schools which really need it. NCLB is a Republican fraud. It should be scrapped |

Rob: and my whole point is that their test scores can hardly be called a "success".
Why can't they be call a success? Look at numbers, that's substantiated enough. You asked for the numbers, I provided them. These numbers do not look like "success" to me. Well, maybe compared to the last year, or compared to Aqua Fria elementary they look like a huge success, but not on a global scale of things.
Regarding confusing you with someone else... so... are you or are you not making a statement that people shouldn't complain unless they can offer a solution? I am not an expert in a field of education to offer solutions, yet I feel I have a right to complain about public schools I am paying for. *MY* solution would have been higher educational snadradrs, stricter discipline and more homework, but that's just me, I am not an expert and have no say in the matter. ll I can do is take my child somewhere else. |

Rob: I am not just going to "blah", as you put it
Why should Sandy go and teach or volunteer or do anything else for that matter to make SF schools better, and only then she would have a right to complain in your book?
Olga methinks you have me confused with someone else who made those statements....
If you complain about a situation and just do that, complain, and offer no suggestions, then what good is it? My whole point was that they succeeded this year as opposed to last, but that's just not good enough....And why is that? I've yet to hear a well substantiated reason......

PS: I don't know how it is in the entire state, we've just lived here, in Santa Fe for the last 5 years. We are moving out of state. Hope someone will buy our house ;) |

Sorry to hear that about this state, Olga. I know you got to do what you gotsta do, but at least you are doing it. Good luck and I hope you found somewhere more suitable and will continue to post online here.
By the way, do you mean schools and crime in the entire state, or just Santa Fe? |

Thanx, PC. Sorry if I sound harsh, it's my last month in the state... And schools are the main reason we are leaving. Also crime. |

Well, Olga, I agree with your 11:07 a.m. comment. To the point without being condescending.

Rob: I am sorry, my post was too harsh. But why do you think people should just accept it and not complain when the best school in SF performs so poorly by national standards? Even if it means only bashing, complaining and not doing anything useful?
Public schools is the service we get as tax paying citizens. Why shouldn't we expect a better service and complain when we don't get it? Why should Sandy go and teach or volunteer or do anything else for that matter to make SF schools better, and only then she would have a right to complain in your book? That's not her job to make SF schools better. And neither it is my job. I have a full time job. And I still have a right to complain if public services I pay my taxes for are inadequate, OK?

Rob: I am not just going to "blah", as you put it, we are moving next month. We don't belong to Los Alamos school district, and it's to scary to buy there, so... I am not even impressed with private schools in Santa FE.
Why not trash on other Santa Fe schools that are even worse than Eldorado? Strange question... The article is about Eldorado, isn't it. I am sorry you are so offended with me mentioning that the best school in Santa Fe is about the same as the worst school in LA, with the rest of LA school preforming SIGNIFICANTLY better (check the scores again)
The rest of what you right are just excuses, sorry. |

Since Los Alamos has such good schools, I think that Santa Fe kids should be bussed up there to take advantage of them. |

Olga most of the schools' scores could be considered laughable..
Go through the list of schools and compare El Dorado's with the rest and you'll see that they are well above many of the other schools....
And like I said, considering they didn't make it the year before shows progress....But yeah it's easier to just bash.....
And why don't we see any negative comments about schools that actually DIDN'T make AYP this year and made it the prior year?
Yay for Los Alamos....You praise them for making AYP yet don't for El Dorado...Why? Because it doesn't "measure up" to your precious LA schools......
LA has only 7 schools compared to SF...And I won't get into the demographics of each place..I think you already know that.... |

oops, forgot to add a link to Los Alamos public schools.
Eldorado rates about the same as the worst performing LoS Alamos school:Aspen Elementary, so really, scroll down both lists and take a look.

with any elementary school in Los Alamos for example. Scroll down and take a look for yourself...

You definitely hit the nail on the head, Rob. Or should I say you hit "Sandy", on the head. Condescending, insulting or negative, that's all he posts and that's obviously makes him feel like a big man. It's probably time for him to change his name again, for what, the 4th or 5th time. |

Wow Sandy...Great comeback...Typical reaction from someone who has nothing and just likes to complain....
If you looked at those special stats you have hidden up your...sleeve..You'd see that prior to that year they hadn't made it..But heck lets find a negative amidst a positive...Must suck to go through life bitter huh? |

The made AYP and the principal hasn't looked at the scores yet to determine where the biggest gains are...
And excuse is something you use when you fail..... |

What great testimony they would give. He is kind, gentle, generous, loving, hard working man, and wonderful father. Always there to give a helping hand. Not an unkind word about anyone. I wonder dad if you know how much you really mean to everyone around you especially your daughters. I love you Daddy |

Exactly! These guys spend other people money like it is burning a hole in their pocket. The first purchase was the worst (the entire utility) then they complain how much work it needs? What ever happened to good ol' due diligence BEFORE you buy! They also wast a ton of money on rent and staff! Eldorado water is already the most expensive in the country. Say no to their waste and lack of experience. |
