2008

Jan. 3:
Richardson wins 2 percent of the delegates in the Iowa caucus, coming in a distant fourth, and vows to go on to New Hampshire.

Jan. 8: Richardson wins 5 percent of the vote in the New Hampshire primary, again coming in a distant fourth. Richardson vows to go on to Nevada and other Western states.

Jan. 10:
Richardson withdraws from presidential race, citing poor showings in the early primaries and a lack of money.

2007

Jan. 21:
On ABC’s This Week With George Stephanopoulos, Gov. Bill Richardson makes his long-anticipated announcement that he’ll form exploratory committee to run for president.

Feb. 16: At fundraiser at Sandia Resort & Casino, Richardson raises $2 million, mainly from New Mexico supporters. By the end of the year, he will have raised at least $5 million from New Mexicans.

New Mexicans happy to have governor home

ALBUQUERQUE — With his presidential bid suddenly behind him, Gov. Bill Richardson won praise Thursday from some New Mexicans for ending the campaign when he did and focusing again on his home state.

Roundhouse still quiet, but Richardson's full steam ahead

'Twas the day after Christmas, and few creatures were stirring at the Roundhouse. Is it just the usual post-holiday, pre-Legislature lull? Or has everyone gone to Iowa to help Bill Richardson's campaign?

Richardson apparently was around the Capitol at least for a short time Wednesday morning. He did an interview with Russ Mitchell on CBS News' The Early Show, and the backdrop looked like the Capitol television studio.

But he wasn't there long. According to his campaign schedule, Richardson had a "presidential job interview" in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at 12:30 p.m.
