Stefan Dill | freenewmexican.com
June 24, 2004

The following requirements are intended to help you understand how we evaluate materials during the submission process. All materials that you submit to freenewmexican.com must comply with these requirements.

  • File Format: Your audio materials must be stereo MP3 files and encoded at 128Kpbs and at a sample rate of 44.1KHz.
  • File Space Limit: There is a 2.5MB limit per artist for all files. This gives approximately 2 minutes of music at the specified encryption rate of 128Kps .
  • Genre: You must choose the single genre that best fits the nature of your submissions. Under most circumstances, we will approve your initial genre request. However, we reserve the right to recategorize your product.
  • Artist Names: You, the artist (or administrator), must exclusively own all artist names or represent the individual or entity that does (as in the case of a record label). You may not reserve or use artist names that you do not have the rights to. Name squatting, or claiming artist names that you clearly do not own, will not be tolerated. Please research the legality of any name you intend to use.

  • Artist/Song Descriptions: Artist and song descriptions must pertain to the specific artist or song listing you are submitting. Artist and song descriptions should not contain marketing language that promotes nonrelevant entities, and should not include any links to images or to unrelated sites.
  • Samples/Cover Songs: You may not submit audio files that contain cover songs or samples. If you do, we may remove those files from our sites or suspend or terminate your account.
  • Adult Content: You must flag material that is not suitable for children under the age of 18, and we will place an explicit warning on the page where that material appears. If you fail to flag adult material, we may remove it from our site or suspend or terminate your account.

You may not submit material that clearly intends to incite hate, or material of an extreme sexual nature, including but not limited to audio recordings of pornography. We reserve the right to remove this type of material, and we may suspend or terminate your account.
  • Copyright and Trademark: Our goal is that the freenewmexican.com music library only will contain material, including but not limited to, musical compositions, sound recordings, artist names, art, or other written or visual images submitted by those who hold all copyright and trademark rights to that material. If we determine that someone other than the legal copyright or trademark holder (or his or her official agent) has submitted material, we will suspend that material.

It is your responsibility to determine whether you have the legal right to use materials that you submit to our site. If you do not hold the copyright and/or trademark for the product(s) you are submitting, but you have documented permission from the trademark or copyright holder, please submit written evidence of your permission with your product. We will review your evidence as part of our evaluation process.
  • Deep Linking: Deep linking to the files that you have stored on our site is not permitted. We encourage you, however, to link directly to your artist page.
  • Song Samples, Excerpts, and Sound Clips: We do not accept song samples, excerpts of songs, sound clips, or any kind of partial song file. You must submit your song in its entirety for it to be approved for publication on freenewmexican.com.

Artist Descriptions:

We want you to create any artist description you wish. However, we encourage you to post one that will aid the listener in understanding you and your music. Try to make it as accurate and descriptive as possible, and avoid writing anything that would confuse the average music consumer. As editor, Ill usually add my own take on it as well.

How to submit: email me digital photos, bio, links, etc. You can drop off or snailmail CDs to:
