Santa Fe is a national hotbed of the rumba flamenca genre, flamenco's dance-pop descendant. Manzanares raise the genre's standard by injecting some much needed high-energy rhythmic activity, making their work one of the most successful combinations of traditional Latin, rumba flamenca, and Nuevo Mexicano musics.

The group is led by brother's David and Michael Manzanares, who grew up the youngest two of six children on a century-old Spanish ranch in Abiquiu, New Mexico. The band is rounded out with Mark Clark, drums/percussion; Jose Romero, bass; Kevin Miller, (cousin of Michael and David), congas; Kanoa Kaluhiwa, saxophone. The new CD delivers their evolved sound complete with the "hip-displacing" latin rhythms they have become so famous for. Their latest CD Nuevo Latino won four 2003 New Mexico Music Industry Awards including Album of the Year.
